- The amount of California tax withheld shown on that form.

CA Real Estate Withholding (Form 593)
What Is It?
California tax withheld from the sale or transfer of California real estate and reported on Form 593, Real Estate Withholding Statement.
Do I Need to Complete This?
Complete this section only if you received Form 593 showing California tax was withheld from a real estate transaction.

CA Resident and Nonresident Withholding (Form 592-B)
What Is It?
California withholding reported on Form 592-B, Resident and Nonresident Withholding Tax Statement. This withholding is commonly associated with California-source income from partnerships, S corporations, trusts, LLCs, and other entities.

Complete this section only if you received Form 592-B.

Apply Your State Refund to Your Current Year Tax Return
What Is It?
This option allows you to apply part or all of your California refund to next year's California taxes.
Do I Need to Complete This?
Complete this section only if:
- Your return shows a refund, and
- You want to apply some or all of that refund toward your 2026 California taxes.

Payments Made With Your Extension
What Is It?
Payments made with a California extension request, including payments made with Form FTB 3519 or electronic extension payments.
Do I Need to Complete This?
Complete this section only if you made a payment when requesting an extension of time to file your California return.
What Do I Need to Enter?
Enter the total amount paid with your California extension.

Claim of Right (IRC 1341)
What Is It?
A Claim of Right credit may be available if:
- You reported income on a prior year's tax return because you believed you had the right to keep it, and
- You later had to repay some or all of that income.
Common examples include:
- Repayment of wages or bonuses to an employer.
- Repayment of commissions.
- Repayment of benefits or other income that was previously reported as taxable income.
Do I Need to Complete This?
Complete this section only if:
- You were required to repay income that was taxed in a prior year, and
- You calculated a Claim of Right credit under IRC Section 1341.
Most taxpayers will not need to complete this section.
