Maine allows taxpayers to make voluntary contributions to certain state funds and purchase Maine State Park day-use passes directly through their Maine income tax return. These amounts are added to your tax due or reduce your refund.

Voluntary Contributions
You may choose to contribute any amount to one or more of the following funds:
- Endangered and Nongame Wildlife Fund
- Maine Children's Trust Incorporated
- Companion Animal Sterilization Fund
- Maine Military Family Relief Fund
- Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Maintenance Fund
- Maine Public Library Fund
- Children's Cancer Research Fund
- Emergency Food Assistance Program Fund
Enter the amount you wish to contribute for each fund. Contributions are voluntary and will be included on Maine Schedule CP, Charitable Contributions and Purchase of Park Passes.
If you itemize deductions, your contributions may qualify as charitable contributions on your federal and Maine income tax returns for the following tax year.
Park Passes
You may purchase Maine State Park day-use passes through your Maine tax return. Enter the number of each type of pass you would like to purchase. The cost of the passes will be automatically calculated and included on Schedule CP.

Amended Returns
If you file an amended Maine return, the charitable contribution and park pass amounts must match the amounts reported on your original return. These amounts cannot be changed on an amended return.
