The Following Information Can Be Added
Estimated Payment Vouchers (Form IA 1040ES)
Used to generate Iowa estimated tax payment vouchers for taxpayers who expect to owe Iowa income tax and need to make estimated tax payments during the year.
Form IA 2210 Underpayment of Estimated Tax
Used to calculate whether an underpayment penalty applies when a taxpayer did not have enough Iowa tax withheld or did not make sufficient estimated tax payments throughout the year.
Notes
- Most taxpayers will not need to complete both forms.
- Estimated tax vouchers are generally used by taxpayers who expect to owe tax that is not covered by withholding.
- Form IA 2210 is used to determine whether an underpayment penalty applies and, if applicable, to calculate the penalty amount.
- Additional information regarding withholding, estimated payments, and safe harbor provisions may be required when completing Form IA 2210.
