The amount of an Iowa overpayment that the taxpayer would like to apply to the following year's Iowa income tax return instead of receiving as a refund.
Adjustments to Estimated Payments
Any corrections needed to estimated tax payments that were transferred from the federal return.
Additional Information
- Iowa withholding reported on Forms W-2 and 1099 is generally transferred automatically from the federal return.
- Estimated tax payments are generally transferred from the federal return.
- If no adjustments are needed to estimated payments, leave the adjustment field blank.
- An amount can only be applied to next year's Iowa return if the return results in an overpayment.
- If the return results in a balance due, the amount entered to be applied to next year's taxes will not transfer to the Iowa return.
