Our program supports preparing federal and state tax returns for the following tax years:
- 2025
- 2024
- 2023
For each of these years, you can complete your return, print the required forms, and file them by mail.
Can I E-File a Prior-Year Return?
No. Prior-year returns for tax years 2023, 2024, and 2025 cannot be e-filed through our program.
After completing your return, you'll need to:
- Print the completed return.
- Sign and date all required forms.
- Mail your federal return to the IRS.
- Mail any state return to the appropriate state tax agency.
Important: Federal and state returns must be mailed separately. Be sure to use the correct mailing address for each tax agency to avoid processing delays.
What If I Need to File a Return Older Than 2023?
Tax years 2022 and earlier are not available in our program.
If you need to file one of these older returns:
- Visit the IRS Prior-Year Forms Library.
- Download the forms for the tax year you need.
- Complete the forms manually.
- Print and mail the return to the IRS and, if applicable, your state tax agency.
How Do I Start a Prior-Year Return?
Getting started is simple:
- Sign in to your account.
- Select the tax year you want to prepare (2025, 2024, or 2023).
- Enter your tax information for that year.
- Review your return for accuracy.
- Print, sign, and mail the completed return.
State Prior-Year Returns
State prior-year returns are available for all supported years (2023 through 2025) and can be prepared alongside your federal return.
Just like federal prior-year returns, state prior-year returns cannot be e-filed through our program. Once completed, you'll need to print, sign, and mail them to the appropriate state tax agency.
