A TaxSlayer promo code can help lower the cost of your Products & Services when you're filing your tax return. Depending on how you file, there are two places where you can enter a promo code in your account.
Entering a Promo Code During E-file
If you're e-filing your return and paying with a credit or debit card, you'll have the option to enter a promo code in the E-file section of your return.
If you reach the Total Charges Due summary screen and haven't entered your code yet, you can still select the option indicating that you have a promo code before completing payment.
Entering a Promo Code When Printing and Mailing Your Return
If you're required to print and mail your tax return instead of e-filing, payment is made in the Review > Print Results section.
When paying with a credit or debit card, you'll be prompted to enter your promo code before completing your purchase.
Where Can I Find a TaxSlayer Promo Code?
TaxSlayer promo codes are typically distributed by email throughout the tax season. To stay informed about discounts and special offers, make sure your TaxSlayer account is set up to receive marketing emails.
Our support team does not have access to promo codes and cannot issue new ones.
If you haven't received a code or your previous offer has expired, visit the TaxSlayer Promo Codes page to view any currently available promotions.
Why Is My Promo Code Showing as Invalid?
If your promo code isn't working, check the following:
- Make sure you've entered the code exactly as it appears.
- Review the promotion details for expiration dates.
- Confirm that you meet any eligibility requirements associated with the offer.
- Verify that the promotion applies to your selected Products & Services.
If you've confirmed these details and the code still doesn't work, contact TaxSlayer Support and provide:
- The promo code you're trying to use
- Where you received the code
- Details about how you're entering it into your account
Keep in mind that TaxSlayer cannot guarantee the validity of promo codes found on third-party websites. For the most reliable discounts, we recommend using offers sent directly through TaxSlayer communications.
Can I Use a Promo Code With IRS Free File?
TaxSlayer participates in the IRS Free File Alliance program for taxpayers who meet certain eligibility requirements.
Because IRS Free File returns are already free, accounts created through the program cannot apply additional promo codes.
However, if you begin filing through IRS Free File and later discover that you no longer qualify, you can continue your return using TaxSlayer Classic. If you have an eligible promo code, you can enter it during the payment process.
Can I Change the Promo Code on My Account?
Yes. If you've already entered a promo code but want to use a different one, select "Have a different promo code?" on the payment summary screen before you complete your purchase.
Please note that only one promo code can be applied per account or transaction. Multiple discounts cannot be combined.
Quick Tip
Before paying for your return, double-check that your promo code has been applied and that the discounted amount appears on your summary screen. Once payment is completed, changing or replacing a promo code may no longer be possible.
