The taxpayer/spouse either did not enter an Identity Protection Personal Identification Number (IP PIN) or the number entered is invalid or incorrect.
An Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is a six-digit number used to prevent someone else from filing a tax return using your Social Security number. The IP PIN is known only to you and the IRS. If an IP PIN has been issued to an individual, it is required to be included in the return.
How do I fix my return?
