What does this rejection code mean?
The IRS has rejected your Federal Tax Return because the Name OR Social Security Number (SSN) you entered does not match what the IRS has in their records. The IRS receives this information from the Social Security Administration (SSA).
How do I fix my return?
- To correct the Spouse's SSN or Name entered on your return:
- Select Basic Information from the left-hand menu
- Personal Information
- General Information.
- Make sure you click continue to save the updated information and resubmit your return through the e-file process.
- If the information is correct, please contact your local Social Security Office to determine what they have on record for the spouse. It may be possible you will need to print, sign and mail your return processing this tax season
