If you did not file a return for the 2018 or 2019 tax years, you will be eligible to receive the Economic Impact Payment (EIP) in the form of the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 tax return. This credit will be figured in the same way as last year's EIP, however, it will be figured using your 2020 tax year information.
The maximum amount for the first stimulus payment credit will be $1,200 or $2,400 if filing as Married Filing Jointly; an additional $500 will also be applied to this credit for each qualifying child listed on your return. The maximum amount for the second stimulus payment credit will be $600 per qualifying person listed on the return.
You can find more information regarding the Recovery Rebate Credit within the 1040 Instructions.
