Is my military pension/retirement income taxable to Kansas?

According to the Kansas Department of Revenue, military retirement is subtracted from your Kansas state return. 

This exclusion is not automatically calculated by the program. You will have to manually enter this exclusion by going to:

  1. State section
  2. Kansas state return (3 dots, Edit)
  3. Subtractions from Income
  4. Enter Qualified Exempt Retirement Benefits received in 2024
  5. Continue
