Social Security Benefits and Military Pensions are not taxable in Missouri.
Missouri allows for a subtraction of a portion of Public Pensions that was received from any federal, state, or local government up to the maximum Social Security benefit which is $47,633 for 2025.
Private Pensions are fully taxable, but you may qualify for an exemption up to $6000 per taxpayer. The exemption amount is based upon adjusted gross income limits and filing statuses.
