The state of Alabama has made the following tax law changes for tax year 2018:
- Electronic Filing- Non-residents can now electronically submit their returns.
- Identity Quiz- Alabama is now issuing an ID confirmation for certain filers. This quiz is issued to protect the identity of the filer and does not mean the tax payer is a suspect of identity theft.
- Form 40EZ- Alabama is now offering a simplified individual income tax form that can be electronically filed.
- HSA's- Alabama now allows taxpayers to deduct HSA contributions made with after tax dollars to the extent of Federal contributions limits.
