If you claimed itemized deductions on your prior year federal tax return, some or all of your Missouri state tax refund may be taxable on this year's federal return. If you itemized last year, you will need to make a manual entry of the amount showing in Box 2 on your 1099-G form. This amount is also pulled to the State return and allocated equally to each spouse listed on the return.
Program Entry
If you itemized last year and need to enter your state refund as income, use this path:

Allocate the amount of the Missouri taxable refund to each spouse. The amount entered should not exceed last year's refund amount.
NOTE: If you did not itemize deductions last year, then your state refund is NOT taxable. You do not need to enter information from your 1099-G on your return. Retain the 1099-G form for your records.
