Other State Withholdings are withholdings you are not able to report in another form such as:
- You have a 1099-B with an amount in Box 16
- You have withholdings on a 1099 form that does not allow you to enter the withholdings and the amount cannot be entered into the state section of the program.
What impact does this entry have on my refund amount?
Generally, this entry is not used within the program because the withholdings are reported on the correct forms.
If you enter a withholding amount here that is already listed in the program, this will cause your return calculations to be incorrect. In turn, an incorrect entry for withholdings could result in your state adjusting your refund amount and delaying your refund.
