Why can't I electronically file my prior year returns?

The IRS and States do not allow electronic filing for prior year returns through self-preparation websites such as ours. This is not our regulation - it is set forth by the IRS and State Agencies. According to the IRS, you must print, sign, and mail your returns to them for processing.  

How do I print my prior year return?

To print your return from within the program, please log into your account that was used to prepare your prior year return. From the "My Account" page

1. Refer to Prior Years section at the bottom
2. Select Access Return next to the Tax Year you would like to print
3. Select Access Return
4. Summary/Print(on left navigation bar)
5. View/Print Return
6. A pop-up of your return will show in pdf. format. There, you will be able to view, save, and print the Federal and any State Return(s) forms for that year.

Please be sure to sign your return and attach a copy of your W-2 statements along with any additional forms that have been generated based on your entries.
