Form 1098-E: What do I do with my Student Loan Interest Statement?

If you received a 1098-E for interest that you paid on qualifying student loans during the tax year, to enter, go to: 

1. Federal Section
2. Select My Forms
3. Adjustments to Income
4. Student Loan Interest Deduction    

Any interest that you paid on qualifying student loans is generally reported to you on Form 1098-E, Student Loan Interest Statement by the financial institution to which you made the payments. If you received a 1098-E, you can generally use the amount listed on the form to reduce your income.
