Most forms in the program are automatically removed when you delete the information that generated the form.
However, certain forms must be removed manually.
🗑️ Forms That Require Manual Deletion
Some forms—such as:
- Form 2441 (Child and Dependent Care Credit)
- Form 1099‑R
…must be manually removed by the user.
How to Delete These Forms
- Go to the area where the form appears in your account.
- Select the ⋯ three‑dots menu next to the form.
- Click Delete to remove it.
🔄 Deleting Forms Pulled From a Prior-Year Return
If a form carried over from the previous year:
- Open the form.
- Select the ⋯ three‑dots menu next to the form.
- Choose Delete.
⚠️ If the Delete Option Does Not Appear
If the 3‑dots menu does not show “Delete,” you will need to remove each entry manually until the form is blank.
👤 How to Remove a Spouse From the Return
If you need to remove the spouse from the return:
- Go to Basic Information.
- Select Filing Status.
- Change your filing status to one that does not include a spouse
- (e.g., Single, Head of Household, or Qualifying Widow(er), depending on eligibility).
- Once the filing status changes, the spouse's information will be removed from the return.
