Reject codes continue to change each year as the IRS and states add additional forms to the e-file process. We continually update our program and help articles as the codes are sent to us.
How do I read the rejection code?
We understand that the rejection code is difficult to understand. That is why we have taken the time to break the information down into easy-to-understand instructions. To determine the reason for your rejected return, log in to your account and click on the “Show Details” link on your Tax Home screen. The rejection reason and the process to correct the return are visible there.
What if there is no explanation? What if the instructions didn't work?
If there is no explanation in the account, the rejection code may be new, and we have not yet translated the code for your convenience.
If the instructions do not correct the return, the instructions may need to be reviewed/updated.
Click on Help & Support within your account to send us an email, and we will research the rejection code for you and review your account. We will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to correct the return.
