Once your federal and/or state return has been accepted, you’ll receive a notification. After acceptance, you can print or save a copy of your tax return (Form 1040 and any associated worksheets or schedules) to your computer or a thumb drive.
✅ To Print or Save Your Accepted Return
- 🔐 Log in to your account.
- 👤 On the Tax Home page, click the Print button in the center of the screen.
- 📄 Choose Print Federal or Print State.
- 📂 A PDF of your accepted return will open.

- Click the printer icon, or
- Press Ctrl + P
- Save
- Click the disk/save icon, or
- Press Ctrl + S to save the PDF to your computer or external drive
📧 How Do I Email a Copy of My Return to Myself or Someone Else?
You can email a copy of your return by saving the PDF first, then attaching it to an email.
✅ Steps to Email Your Return
- Follow the steps above to open your accepted return as a PDF.
- 💾 Click the Save (disk) icon or press Ctrl + S.
- Choose a location on your computer and save the file.
- ✉️ Open your email program.
- 📎 Attach the saved PDF to your email.
- Send it to yourself or another recipient as needed.
⚠️ Security Tip: Tax returns contain sensitive personal information. Only email your return to trusted recipients and use secure email whenever possible.
🔄 Created an Amended Return? Here’s How to Access the Original
Once you start an amended return, the original version cannot be automatically restored. However, you can still access and print the original accepted return.
✅ Accessing the Original Accepted Return
- Go to the Tax Home screen.
- 🖨️ Print a copy of the original accepted return using the steps above.
- 📝 The Review > Summary screen will reflect your current (amended) entries.
⚠️ Important Note:
If you need to revert to the original return, you must manually undo any changes made during the amendment process.
