You can choose one of the following options to receive your refund:
- Direct Deposit
- Mailed Check
- Debit Card
- File & Go/Bank Refund Transfer
What is the Direct Deposit Option?
Direct Deposit (**Recommended for a faster refund**)
This option allows you to file your federal and/or state return(s) electronically, and to have your refund directly deposited into your checking or savings account. This option usually takes 10-21 days to complete based on the IRS and state(s) refund cycles. This is a good choice for those with a checking or savings account. Having your refund directly deposited into your checking or savings account is also the fastest method to receive your federal and/or state refund.
What is the Mailed Check Option?
Mailed Check
This option allows you to file your federal return and/or all state return(s) electronically. You will receive your federal and/or state refund as a mailed check. Your refund check will be issued to the mailing address listed on your accepted tax return. This method usually takes 18-28 days to receive your refund in the mail. This is a good choice for those without a checking or savings account.
What is the Debit Card Option?
Debit Card (**State Refunds Only**)
This option allows you to receive your state refund(s) by a debit card. You will receive a pre-paid debit card with your state refund already loaded on the card and all you will need to do is activate the card once received in the mail. This delivery method varies between states but is generally processed within 10-18 days of your state return(s) being accepted.
*Note: Not all states offer refunds using the pre-paid debit card.
What is the File & Go/Bank Refund Transfer Option?
File & Go/Bank RT(Refund Transfer)
This option allows you to file your federal return and state return(s) electronically, and to have your refunds directly deposited into your personal checking or savings account. This option usually takes 10-18 days to complete. This option requires that you provide a valid phone number, email address , some type of verifiable identification, and bank account information in your return. This option is the same as a Direct Deposit, except that filing fees and any bank processing fees are deducted from your Federal refund. To use this option, you must be filing a Federal return and receiving a refund from your federal return to cover the expenses listed above.
* Note: If you file a state only return or you do not have an anticipated refund from the Federal this option may not be available.
