If you owe federal taxes, our program requires you to pay for your preparation fees by debit/credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover).
Deducted from refund- TaxSlayer paid packages only
We offer an alternative if you are expecting a refund on your federal return. In many cases, you can choose the refund option of "File and Go" and deduct the fees from your refund. Your federal refund must be able to cover filing fees as well as any additional fees. This option incurs a separate fee ($39.99) imposed by the third-party bank.
What if the IRS doesn't process my refund?
If the IRS does not issue the refund and the bank cannot recover the tax preparation fees, we reserve the right to have the fees deducted from the account indicated in the agreement. For more information about this, review the Refund Agreement as listed in your account (Summary/Print section).
What if I owe on my return?
If you have an amount due to the IRS, you must pay your preparation fee up front by debit/credit card. If you do not have a debit/credit card, you can use a family member's card, friend's card, prepaid card etc. Unfortunately, currently, we do not have another way for you to pay for your preparation fees.
Where is the Refund Agreement in my account?
The Refund Agreement can be found in the Federal Section under the Summary/Print tab if you have e-filed your return and used the File N Go option. If you have not yet filed, you can read the agreement during the e-file process when you elect to use File N Go.
