The Pennsylvania Property Tax or Rent Rebate Program, also known as Form PA-1000, offers financial relief to eligible residents through rebates on property taxes or rent paid in the previous year. This PA tax rebate is funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery and is designed to support income-eligible seniors and individuals with disabilities.
Who Is Eligible for the PA Tax Rebate?
You may qualify for the property tax rebate PA or renters rebate PA if you meet the following criteria:
- Age: 65 or older
- Widows/widowers: Age 50 or older
- Individuals with disabilities: Age 18 or older
- Income: Total household income must be $48,110 or less, with half of Social Security income excluded
Spouses, personal representatives, or estates may also file on behalf of a deceased claimant who lived at least one day in the claim year and met all other eligibility requirements.
How much is the rebate?
The standard rebate ranges from $380 to $1,000, depending on income. Some applicants may qualify for supplemental rebates of up to $500, especially if:
- They live in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, or Scranton
- Their income is $32,070 or less
- They pay more than 15% of their income in property taxes
This means the maximum total rebate can reach $1,500 for qualifying households.

When will I receive my rebate?
The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue states that rebates will begin being delivered around April for many Pennsylvania citizens who submitted applications through the rebate program for property taxes or rent that was paid. Applicants can check the status of their rebates using the myPATH portal.
Rebates are processed and distributed on a first-in-first-out basis.
