Missouri allows for a property tax credit for certain senior citizens and 100% disabled individuals for a portion of what was paid in real estate taxes or rent that was paid throughout the tax year. The maximum amount of the credit for renters is $750 and $1,100 for home owners that pay real estate taxes.
Income Limit
- For renters or part year owners: Total household income for single filers must be $27,200 or less; for married couples filing a combine return, total household income must be $29,200 or less.
- For owned and occupied the whole year: Total household income for single filers must be $30,000 or less; for married couples filing a combine return, total household income must be $34,000 or less.
Household income for you and your spouse will include:

- Veteran Payments and Benefits (unless the recipient is 100% disabled)
- Public and Private Pensions and Annuities
- Public Relief, Public Assistance, and Unemployment Benefits
- SSI, TANF, and/or Child Support Received
