If you take the standard deduction on your 2022 return, you cannot claim charitable contributions on your federal return.
The standard deduction for the 2022 tax year is $12,950 for single filers, $19,400 for heads of household and, $25,900 for married couples filing jointly. However, if your itemized deductions exceed the standard deduction for your filing status and age, you may take itemized deductions and claim the Charitable Contributions.
