The standard deduction for the 2019 tax year is $12,200 for single filers, $18,350 for heads of household and, $24,400 for married couples filing jointly. However, if your itemized deductions exceed the standard deduction for your filing status, and age, you may take itemized deductions and claim the Charitable Contributions.
