If you are filing a 2025-26 FAFSA Form, you must use the federal tax information from your 2024 tax return. You can do this by using the Internal Revenue Service Data Retrieval Tool (IRS DRT), or by referring to a copy of your 2024 tax return.
If you filed a return using our program, log into your account and scroll down to the Prior Year Returns. Select Access Return under the 2024 tax year followed by View or Print Return.
If you do not see the View or Print Return button, you may have filed using a different account or the return was not E-filed. Use the Forgot Username link on the Home Page to see if you have more than one account.
What if I filed with another tax provider?
If you used another tax provider software or you printed and mailed the return, you can get a transcript of the filed return from the IRS. The IRS has rigorous identity authentication requirements. Please review these on the IRS website. You can also call 800-908-9946 to order a transcript by mail. A transcript by mail will take 5 to 10 calendar days.
If you filed an amended return (1040X) for 2024, use the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) and earned income as shown on the amended return.
