On February 27, 2025, the IRS announced they will add the federal W-2 and 1095-A forms for 2023 and 2024 to the taxpayer's Online Account.
Where can I find these documents in my Online Account?
These forms will be available under the Records and Status tab in the taxpayer’s Online Account.
I file jointly. Where is my spouse's information?
Only information return documents issued in the taxpayer's name will be accessible in their Online Account. Their spouse must log into their own Online Account to access their information return documents, regardless of whether they file jointly or separately.
Where is my state and local information?
State and local tax information, including details on Form W-2, will not be available in the Individual Online Account. Filers should retain the records sent to them by the original issuer.
How do I create an Online Account?
Individuals can create or access their Online Account on IRS.gov at Online Account for Individuals. Besides Forms W-2 and 1095-A, they can:
- View key details from their most recent tax return, such as Adjusted Gross Income.
- Request and view an identity protection PIN throughout the year.
- Check their refund status.
- Obtain account transcripts, including wage and income records.
- Sign tax forms like powers of attorney or tax information authorizations.
- View and edit language preferences and alternative media.
- Receive and view over 200 IRS electronic notices.
- View, make, and cancel payments.
- Set up or change payment plans and check their balance.
