The following is the IRS definition for reject code 8962-070: The e-File database indicates Form 8962 must be included in the return. According to the IRS, the taxpayer, the taxpayer's spouse if filing jointly, or a dependent claimed on the tax return was enrolled in Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace health insurance and advance payments of the premium tax credit were paid for the coverage. Please resubmit the return with the Form 8962 using the information from your Form 1095-A. If you did not receive or have lost your 1095-A, you can get a copy from the Marketplace through which you obtained coverage.
What if I have a 1095-A?
If you have Marketplace insurance, AKA Obamacare, you will be issued a Form 1095-A. Once you have the form, navigate to the Health Insurance section, answer Yes to the question of having Marketplace insurance, then report the information listed on your 1095-A
What if I do not have Marketplace insurance (no 1095-A)?
If you do not have Marketplace insurance and believe this rejection to be in error, navigate to the Health Insurance section of your return and choose "No Tax Family Member had Marketplace Coverage and we had Employer Health Insurance" before continuing. We will attach a statement indicating you affirm that no family member was covered by Marketplace Insurance at any time during the year.
After making this selection, select E-file from the directory on the left and follow prompts to resubmit your return.
